I moved in here with two cats. I had one of the two bedrooms. When we moved in, there were holes in walls and doors, stains on the bathroom floor, cat scratches on ALL the door frames, and a crack in the light fixture in the bathroom. Thinking this was how all the apartments were, we accepted it. After seeing neighbors and the apartment across the hall before new tenants moved in, it was obvious we weren't told about apartments with dishwashers and completely redone apartments in the same building!
However, this is not why I am so enraged with Lakewood. Having two cats, I kept cat scratch posts everywhere. Below you will see the ONE corner that got a little scratched. There was also a stain in the closet which the carpet was sectioned off. Due to this, HALF our security deposit was kept for the cheap carpet. It's comical that on your move out papers that say what they will keep your money for says " we don't want your money."
We were good tenants, quiet when everyone around us were loud, our apartment constantly reeked of weed and cigarettes from the people downstairs. I am enraged with lakewood as I have never had this kind of problem with an apartment complex. We have been ripped off! If you have a cat, do NOT move in here... They WILL take your money no matter what.
