In 2002...the once-solid/humane DeVincent's Garden Crest community..went to the hands of a corporation that espouses a 'pledge' and probably a good-intentioned spiel about caring and wanting to work with the people whose lives either began or ended right there at Garden Crest...but something went wrong...the actual landlord is not the 'corporation' itself, but a brother-some duo who have more concern about the 'profit' than the population of residents whose monthly rent payments make the profit!! Most of the staff (excepting of course the original guys from Mr. D's days) don't know what they're doing...the computer program that spits out your entire history is a challenge even to a mathematical or computer-genius! If you're elderly or disabled..forget personal interaction or accommodations beyond the bare essentials...you're only an 'address #...you know...30 mc, # ?? or 30 mr, # ??...names and faces never become united in their minds. And I heard about a couple (the guy is handicapped) in another building who were evicted because they couldn't keep up with the constant 'unreasonable' increases...they lived there for nearly 18 years...come on! a senior citizen AND disabled! Sure wish the days of humanity (like that in the film It's a Wonderful Life') would turn around....well...good luck!! Merry Christmas and best wishes if you decide to come here!!
