Resident 2009 - 2010

I waited an entire year before writing a review since I read all the unfavorable ones and wanted to see for myself. I am not experiencing anything like "college dorm living" I lived in a dorm and I could only take it for one year so trust me I would not stay here if that were the case. I am 30 and since college I have lived in different complexes or homes around Boston. This is by far the best. When we were looking for an apartment we had a check list. Dishwasher, in apartment washer and dryer, allow cats, really big closets, and possibly central air and a balcony. This place had all of those. We got a 2 bedroom Lexington style so that when we have visitors there is a place for them to stay, we have an extra closet for storage, and we use it as "Man Town". I work from home two days a week and the built in desk in the hallway comes in extremely handy. I can still take care of things around the house during down time without being locked away in another room. We fell in love with the layout of the Lexington though the other apartments offered are also nice. This feels like you are walking into a home. You walk down a hall to get into your living room, the kitchen and dining area are in the front of the apartment and the bedrooms in opposite corners. The master bedroom has a master bath with a tub so big you can actually take a relaxing bath in it. There is another full bath in the apartment too so your guests have their own space. I have only had 3 maintenance problems the entire year, 2 were our fault but we don't need to get into that. I submit a ticket online and say whether I want to be home or allow entry while I am not and the people come and fix it the next day. They also have emergency maintenance but I have never had to use it. I always know they have been here because they leave a copy of the ticket and, well the problem is fixed. They have never let my cats out and I have never had anything in my apartment touched other than what was being serviced. They also do quarterly maintenance which is an entirely new concept for me. They change the air filters, check all the detectors, etc. I was here once and they were quick and efficient. When there is no noise at all in my house (TVs, music, dryer) I can sometimes hear a neighbor walking upstairs but that's the worst of the "noise problems" The pool is kept clean as is the fitness center. The children in this complex are quiet and well behaved. I came from a complex where they would all get together and wander around hollering at each other. I can't hear a thing. There is always parking. If carrying your trash or driving it in your car is really a huge hassle for you see if there is anything free near the dumpster. The people in the office are always polite when I go in to get a package they stop what they are doing to see what I need and get it right away. We are on our way this morning to sign on for another year, and it is not too expensive especially for what you are getting. (they also have specials almost all the time so if these people complaining signed on when there was no special why is it the complex's fault?) Sometimes for quality you have to pay a little more, would you invest in a $50 flat screen? We did look at every other place in the area that met the same criteria and this was by far the best in price, layout and space. We are glad we made this decision.
