Resident 2010 - 2011

2/5/2011

compared to what? I have lived here since summer of 2010 and it is ok. They are not very particular about screening tenants and some of the neighbors are questionable. My neighbors are EXTREMELY noisy and management knows of it and has done nothing to remove them. I have called the police on them at least once each month that I have been here. The walls and ceilings are very thin and you can hear just about everything going on in the apartments above you and in the hallways. The buildings are extremely old and the floors shake with every step. The cabinets are coming off the ceiling and all they do is paint over them. While it is better than most apartments I have lived in since I moved back to New England, that is not saying much. In the winter, they are very slow to plow the parking lot and if you have to go to work before 9am, you will have to shovel your own way out of the parking lot, or drive in the slippery snow/ice. The people who pick up the trash every morning complain about it every day and pretty much get ticked off if you so happen to get a package and need to throw out the box it came in. The owner is extremely cheap and does not like to spend money on anything. They replaced washers and dryers and lowered the water level to "conserve water", however, they now charge $2 per load and you can only was 2 pairs of jeans and a t shirt with the amount of water that it gets. I do my laundry elsewhere. I came here thinking it was great because of the ratings, so I want next person to be prepared to get more of the same. The only positives I see here is that there is ample parking, a great pool, and for the most part quiet. Also, the older gentlemen who does maintenance and the girl at the office are EXTREMELY nice. We just happened to live in a building with people who do not control their children. I for one, have my own children and would never be so inconsiderate. I mean you hear noise from 6a to 1am. The chandelier in the dining room shakes everyday...all day long. Bottom line, like many landlords, all they care about is collecting the rent check at the end of the day, and for what I get here for my $1350, I would much rather live in the city, where this is the norm. We are moving when our lease is up and that will be that.
