Resident 2020

7/30/2020

We`ve had so many problems with this place that it`s not even funny. The latest in a long line of problems is that the complex is trying to charge me a full month of rent for August when we are only going to be there for 4 days in August. Our first month`s rent was prorated, so its a fair assumption that the last month`s rent should be prorated as well. As far as the move out process, I gave the required 60 days notice as well so the complex is aware that we are moving. This rent problem is the last straw. List of other problems: -Parking is a nightmare. We were told that we could have 2 parking spaces, and then they said that the cars need to be registered to different people. So we did that and they gave us the parking pass, and then they said that the cars need to be owned by different people and called and demanded the parking pass back after they messed up. You can`t get street park after 7pm, so you can`t leave or have people over after that time. -Maintenance is a pain, and you`re not guaranteed electricity, hot water or water at all. We requested in the app that a burnt out light bulb be replaced, and it didn`t happen until over a month later and a second in-person request at the office. There was a part of the wall that was damp, and we called maintenance and they cut a hole in the wall and said something about the roof leaking. So they used cardboard and blue painters tape to cover the hole in the wall, and the left it there for a month and never actually fixed the leak or the hole in the wall. We`ve had the electricity go out at least 6 times in the 1 year that we rented there, and I always paid the electric bill on time so that was definitely not the problem. We also didn`t have hot water for 2-3 days at one point, with no notice about it or why it was happening. A week after that we had no water at all for half a day, and again no notice or information about why that was happening. -It`s extremely noisy all the time. Neighbors were frequently loud, and they only thing that management did about it was tell us to call the non-emergency police line. The complex is also very close to the highway, so you hear all the firetrucks, ambulances and police cars multiple times all hours of the day and night. -There`s mice and roaches. We have seen multiple roaches and there was a hatch out in the bathroom (dozens of roaches!). When we submitted the maintenance request it took weeks for someone to come out.
