2 Hopkins Plaza, Baltimore, MD 21201

One could barely ask for, or expect, a better appointed apartment. Staff are friendly; the amenities and furnishings (public areas) are good. Fixtures, appliances and finishes of the apartments are very good. But construction quality is wanting, especially regarding soundproofing. The apartments are NOISY. The shared ventilation system carries noise and cooking smells. From apartments throughout the building you will hear barking dogs, loud conversations, TVs, music, and be wakened by the smell of pizza at 2 am--the produce of self-indulgent neighbors. Great place if you're a student (many residents are) or if this is no more to you than a one-year (or less) stopover. If you want something more permanent, with a greater sense of community or neighborliness, look elsewhere. In the words of one resident, a medical student, 2 Hopkins is more an upscale dormitory than a home.
