Like any rental property Chesapeake Commons has pros and cons. Variations of floor plans, an on-site gym (even if it is on the small side it is free), secured parking, and courtyard are nice amenities. The location allows you to pick up the metrorail if you are so inclined, the proximity to city features, and ease for getting out of the city via MLK and I-83 are beneficial if you want the city living experience.

The building has the charm of the original exterior with contemporary interiors. Prior reviews are accurate; the complex is updating the interiors unit by unit. If you don't have an update, the kitchen, baths, and carpet are tired, tired, tired! Rents are comparable to the newer facilities such as Marlboro, the Standard and the other places popping up near/around the harbor. So if you can find a comparable space in one of those, I'd go there instead.

Our objective was to find a space that would let us transition to finding a house in the city. Mission accomplished.

The management presents everything as hunky dunky when you are moving in. Once you provide your 60 days notice, well; you slide into 'persona non grata-ville'. Very disappointing on the back-end of our stay. In fact the last several weeks have left such a bad taste that I would not recommend the complex to anyone for any reason. A complete lack of integrity and zero responsiveness on the part of the building front office management (and by association, the owner?). Telling me stories about how neighbors can hear each other sneeze like that's ok, took the shine off them for me. Telling me that they have done what they can do; perhaps I can call the police next time if the noise is that bad.

Basically, they don't consider the lack of sound insulation their issue. It's your problem man.

Front-desk staff gets kudos, their group is consistent and on the job 24/7. The IT guy is always working to keep the technologies current.

On a scale of 1-10; it gets a 4. For the same money you can get a newer place closer to the harbor with updated features. Can't recommend CC overall.

Wish I had known this website existed before I signed a lease . . .
