Toss Up
I've been living in the Marlboro Classic for several months. The rent is relatively cheap for downtown and I only had to pay $250 for a security deposit. The staff is prompt to help and professional in every way. My 2 big beefs are the lack of affordable parking (it costs $140/month to park in the Marriott garage) and the extreme street noise that pummels your eardrums night and day. Several times each week, I'm awakened in the night by the noise pollution of an overzealous fireman as he honks his horn rapid fire passing the MC Building. Lombard Street is a one-way road and a major one...so every day, you have to deal with the non-stop ambulance, police and fire sirens which seem to wail non-stop. My apartment faces the street and I can't vounch for those facing the courtyard. Aside from O's games and the Hippodrome, there is zero classy nightlife on this side of town. Most folks can't afford baseball or broadway every week, so you'll have to drive to more hip areas of town (Fells Point, Canton, etc.) to have some fun. The inner harbor is easily in walking distance (about 1 mile or so) but that's a pain in the winter when it's snowing or in the dead of summer when it's 90% humidity and thundering.Share This Review
