The high ceilings and great views of Patterson Park and the Inner Harbor were what sold us on the apartment. We were immediately disappointed to find that rainwater would leak into our unit through the ceiling and walls whenever there was a moderate storm. The building manager would consistently hire contractors that weren't licensed/bonded by the MHIC, who were unable to fix the leaks in the two years that we lived there. We were also disappointed that the parking spaces are not assigned, despite being numbered. We were unable to find a spot in the garage on several instances, due to either unauthorized guest parking or tenants being promised more spaces than exist in the garage. As street parking in Canton is notoriously difficult, this was really an inconvenience. We also had difficulties keeping the apartment around 68-72 degrees in the winter/summer. The building management installed heat pumps without furnaces in all of the apartments. Baltimore is too far north for this type of system to effectively heat the units. We regularly experienced indoor temperatures in the upper 50's when the outdoor temperature dropped into the teens. After complaining to the Baltimore Housing Authority, the building management installed an additional heating unit that was effective but horribly inefficient ($600/month). While I did find the building management to be responsive, they were inept and unable to solve most issues. I'll miss the views, but not the headaches.
