My husband and I have absolutely loved our time living at The Standard, we just can't recommend it enough. From day one, the management team has been easy to communicate with and incredibly helpful. Any questions or requests he has gone above and beyond to help and - as a bonus - he always remembers our names! We have also loved the front desk personnel - always welcoming and friendly - and the maintenance team. Every issue has been resolved within 24 hours of us submitting a request. We love the security of the building. Packages are stored and you have to sign to pick up from the front desk - in this neighborhood packages are stolen frequently so it really is the only way to guarantee our stuff will be delivered safely. Also, having a parking garage spot is absolutely necessary. Our first week living in Baltimore we saw three cars with windows bashed in on our street. Even though it is an additional cost to have, I have never regretted paying the extra money. As for noise: Unfortunately you can still hear all the sirens going by (and there are a lot because we are right next to Mercy Hospital), but within the actual building, we almost never hear noise from any of our neighbors. We know that someone who lives above us has a piano because we can occasionally hear that... but it's so quiet you can only hear if there is absolutely no other noise (even a TV on low will drown out the piano). The quality of the building and the thickness of the walls is so much better than a lot of the new apartment buildings going up these days. A few other quick perks: Management hosts holiday parties/giveaways a few times a year, Johns Hopkins free shuttle around the corner, a relatively safe part of Baltimore, 24 hour fitness center, vending machine in the laundry room, right by the Baltimore Farmers Market (Sundays), and just a 20 minute walk to the Harbor/Camden Yards.
