Resident 2011

7/29/2011

The building is nice. Obviously, management can't control the junkies and bums urinating and shooting up out front, but it is something you must consider. I have to agree with the previous reviewer over the fact that management may 'do what they can' in terms of calling the elevator company when the elevator REPEATEDLY goes on the fritz (with the SAME problem) over a two week period when it is 100 degrees in the stairwells of a five-story building. However, instead of responding with apologies and (in my opinion) lighting any fire under the elevator company (paying for expedited service, perhaps), management here goes out of their way to remind you with letters that their emergency hotline is not for the elevator or air conditioning. Well, you know what? If you're paying $800 a month somewhere, I can live with that theory, but for 'Luxury apartments' as the big banner reads, that is simply unacceptable. Walking up 10 flights of stairs in 100 degrees with bags of groceries and a dog on a leash again and again IS an emergency when you are paying $1600 a month for your apartment. I suggest Jamie rethinks this strategy. Add that to dodging urine on the sidewalk every morning on your way to work and the sirens from the firehouse next door and it doesn't bode well for the Abell.
