Battery Lane Apartments
Resident · 2011 - 2013
Do not move into these apartments if you need to sleep in. The lawn care begins at around 7:30AM. I am writing this review on the Columbus day holiday I have attached a photo taken around 7:40AM. Today's noise is in violation of the Montgomery County Noise Control Ordinance outlined in Chapter 31B of the county code. I guess on a non-holiday they are not breaking the ordinance, but it doesn't mean the tenants appreciate it. I live at 4949 Battery Lane. The noise is very loud and includes various equipment. The noise continues for at least 30-40 minutes before it starts to get softer as it moves around the building. I have worked in lawn care and know these guys like to start at the crack of dawn generally so they can beat the heat/weather (today it is only 60 degrees), they get home before 3:00PM, and have the attitude of, well, I am awake, so who cares about anyone else. I don't remember this issue in prior years, but the past year it has been there. I work hard during the week and work late hours so I should be entitled to sleep in when I have a day off. I brought this issue up with the management office before and they kind of laughed at me when I didn't want to give my apartment number. So, there is two problems, NOISE, and a careless attitude from management (generally the management office is professional and attentive, however they let me down on this issue). Tenants should be viewed as guests, not prisoners. I will be looking for a new apartment in the spring.
