The upsides are the building is very convenient to public transportation and the Crescent Trail, as well as a gym, two grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants. It's also well-kept and the rent is great.
The downsides are that the elevator is tiny, so it's impossible to fit anything bigger than a chair in it. My mover and I carried a loveseat up three flights of stairs over our heads. The floors are also EXTREMELY thin. I hear everything my neighbors above and below me do, and putting down rugs and padding has done little to remedy this. My upstairs neighbor is not following the 80% rug coverage rule, which doesn't help. I'm also convinced my downstairs neighbor either listens to his TV at 200% volume or has it attached to the ceiling. I have covered my bedroom floor in foam puzzle mats, put two rugs on top, and sleep with ear plugs in, the window AC fan on, and a white noise machine, and I can still feel the vibrations from the tv in my skull as I'm trying to sleep. God help you if anyone in an adjoining apartment has a child.
Also, I recommend having your packages sent to the nearby post office, because the FedEx delivery person leaves packages just sitting in the lobby, and I have no idea where a USPS package has gone. If it's at the leasing office, no one has told me.
