I am looking for a two-bedroom apartment. Although there are few comments on the Internet to recommend the Chevy Chase Lake Apartments, the buildings and grounds look nice and are well located, so I stopped to see what the apartments were like and to find out what they had to say about all their bad publicity.
There was a permanent sign for the Rental Office outside along with a less permanent sign stuck into the ground announcing they were presently leasing 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments.
One man was sitting behind the desk in the rental office working on a computer. Without looking up, he asked how I was. I introduced myself, and told him I was looking for a two-bedroom apartment. Without really disengaging from the computer or asking me to sit down, he said they didn t have any two-bedroom apartments available for at least 60 days. That was fine because my time frame was 60 days or more; I was flexible. I told him I had come because I wanted to see what the apartments were like. He said he didn t have anything to show me, turned back to his computer; he did not say he was sorry, offer me his business cards which were on his desk, suggest when I might check back with him, or try to engage me in any way.
After that I could imagine that all the negative comments by tenants are true. It s not some place one wants to live.
