Resident 2013

10/1/2013

WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED IN. DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS COMPLEX. -Leasing office is very unprofessional and inconsistent. More than half of the people that work there do not know the rules. -There seems to be additional random rules/fees -I lived there for a year, and upon move out I got charged $735 for the real cheap carpet due to 2stains, since apparently they had to replace the entire carpet in the apartment because they cant just clean it or replace only the carpet where 2 stains are. - For low income/affordable housing I paid $1309 for 2 bedroom, since they didn't have a 1bedroom available, and my income qualified me for a 2bedroom. That is not cheap!! For that monthly amount you can live anywhere nicer, and save. -Pet rent and pet deposit is required. Again not cheap. As affordable housing I don't understand why pet rent is even required in addition to the deposit. -Laundry situation is a mess. $60 per month if you want the laundry units in your apartment. Sooo expensive. Otherwise you share a laundry room with 300other residents, and use this laundry card that you have to refill only when the office is open. -There are random people walking around. Some that live there, and some just total strangers that I would never see again. Aggressive dog breeds, and not very many clean ups after pets. -I lived on the 3rd floor, with not an actual roof, the ac in the summer, was non-existent. I would adjust it to 73F, and on a not so very hot day it would maybe get down to 87F in my apartment. So the AC would constantly keep running without ever cooling to the set temperature. -Parking is non-existant after like 7pm.

My sincerest apologies to you and the experience you have had living here. We have community policies that are strictly enforced by our staff so we can strive for a better living environment for all of our residents. In regards to your move out charges, we charge back any damages that the property has acquired back to the resident. We do not make a profit from these charges, they are simply billed back to you. Our community participates in a Low Income Housing Tax Credit program which requires us to charge no more than the maximum allowable rent for the area median income. These rents are established by HUD and our community is currently in compliance. Our community also accepts pets - where a lot of communities in the area don't. The pet deposits are required but are refundable as long as there are no damages caused by the pet. For our washers and dryers they are optional and are rented by a third party contractor which is why there is a fee associated with them. I welcome you to call the office to speak with me if you have any questions and/or concerns regarding your move out accounting. Thanks for your review and I hope that we hear from you soon. -Karell
