The things I love about Camden College Park are: 1) Free Shuttle Van to Greenbelt Metro; 2) Restaurants and other dining places right downstairs; 3) Maintenance team works hard and are friendly; 4) The fitness Center; 5) it's a gated community. However, I would not recommend this place to my friends or refer them. Having over night guests is difficult as the risk of guest's cars being towed is moderate to high because they have to park on the roof of the building, and tenant has to somehow go up to where the guest is parked and hand guest the parking pass so it can be displayed on the dashboard and visible to the towing company, and, if your guest is staying for multiple days, you must print a new parking pass every day, take it up to the roof, and replace it with the expired pass. The system does not allow multiple day parking passes. The gate entry/exiting into the garage is much too slow, leaving plenty of time for trespassers or non-residents without an entry fob to tailgate and enter into the building. The forced technology package is $96 per month with Comcast and is only Basic Extended Cable (no premium channels or digital preferred). The forced valet trash service $30 is undependable and unrealiable; these are expenses I could do without. Residents are not able to "opt-out" or decline these services. They don't have enough cameras to identify bad tenants and violators of the leasing agreement. Many times I don't feel safe walking alone here. People's packages have been stolen from their doorsteps, and some residents don't clean up after their pets, their pets use the bathroom in the hallways and walkways where people often walk. Some residents are nasty, they don't set their trash out properly or they spill trash and don't pick it up. Also, there have been numerous vehicle break-ins and thefts of property. This is supposed to be a smoke free community but many residents smoke marijuana and cigarettes, and you can smell it inside your apartment.
