Cedar Valley Apartments

I lived at Cedar Valley for 2 years and initially, I loved the layout of the apartment and its close proximity to the schools, shopping center, and job. What I liked most was the washer/dryer in the unit, the large walk in closets, and 1.5 bathrooms. Maintenance calls were always an issue. I always had to wait over a week for the repairs to be made, only to have to call them back again because the repairman didn't fix the problem or made it worse. The maintenance staff were pleasant people, but not qualified or competent to do the job. The apartment smelled like cigarettes all the time and I do not smoke. I suspected one of the neighbors was either selling drugs or just doing drugs in their unit, because strange people came in and out of the unit at all hours of the day. Several times there were verbal altercations after midnight with loud yelling and cursing. The building smelled of cigarettes and cat urine most times and the stairs had paint stains for over a year. I'm glad they removed the Luxury Apartments sign they had displayed at the entrance because every time I saw it, I felt lied to - false advertising. Everything in the apartment is old and in need of upgrading. The bathroom caulking was done very sloppily and looks cheap. Basically, the apartment was conveniently located but not worth the $1265 a month. In all fairness, compared to neighboring apartment complexes, it seemed to be the largest in the Harpers Choice area that offerd w/d in the unit. They are under new management now and are suppose to be upgrading the apartments, so hopefully it will be a lot better.
