WARNING: BEDBUGS & POOR MAINTENANCE Upstairs has little A/C. I have lived at Seven Oaks this past year. Initially, things were ok. House had its minor problems but nothing we couldn't live with. Recently we had a bed bug problem. My roommate and I found them in our beds and on some furniture. We threw out some furniture and some bugs we found and immediately called the leasing office to let them know we need an exterminator. 2 days pass before we see a note on our counter saying "experts have inspected the area and concluded there were no pest problems".... basically, they didn't see any so they did nothing. About a week passes and I'm still waking up with some bites so I throw out my bed and a lot of my stuff... I call a second time... Same thing, 2 days later a paper is on our counter saying no pests were found.... One more week passes (placing us at today) and I wake up to bed bugs on my last pillow and various other places. Regarding the Air conditioning. we have had problems since we moved in. Downstairs would get cool, at 75 degrees, the upstairs would still be around 85-90 degrees. I'm talking No clothes/blankets to bed and ice water within reaching distance and STILL waking up in a pool of sweat EVERY night. We called 3 separate times. First time they claimed to "fix" the problem. but we noticed no change in heating. We called again a few weeks later and they said everything was working perfectly. Although the technicians that came out agreed that the upstairs was hotter than supposed to be. Instead of looking into the problem more, they walked me and my roommate through how to use the thermostat. (it's not complex, your flipping a switch to cool, and 73). Using one is common sense. The third time we called, the same outcome. Someone came out and just showed us how to work the thermostat. Just last week, I noticed the fan blade in our outdoor unit has dropped to the bottom. Put in a work order and they come to reattach the blades. SUDDENLY we have cool air upstairs. Im not a AC technician or a bug exterminator. So really, the "professionals" at Sevenoaks are not even at entry level when it comes to their capabilities or skillset. I called about the AC being broke for so long, and they (Spoke with Tanya) simply apologized and said they can't do anything because AIR CONDITIONING is a luxury appliance and that I DONT NEED IT so they aren't obligated to do anything further to help. Tanya did not seem to really care if I was satisfied or if an issue was resolved. Her tone of voice sounded like she would rather be anywhere than on the phone helping a customer. So thank you Seven Oaks, for showing me how little you truly care about your residents. I will not be renting with you again, nor will I recommend you to anyone. Hopefully, someone reads this; and effectively avoids your bedbugs, 'professionals' and poor customer service... P.S. the bed bugs are still currently a problem. I have seen no steps toward it being resolved by the leasing office.
