I would like to share my story of failed to move-in process to anyone review. We looked around Gaithersburg for a while, and found Mill Creek Gardens Apartments. The surrounding environment was quiet and the price was good. After a model unit tour, we applied for a unit. A few days later, we were told we got approved and asked to come to the leasing office to make a $400.00 security deposit. We came to the leasing office that weekend and paid $400.00 security deposit to hold the unit. The leasing staff told us the unit could be ready in a week and asked us when we could move in. We told them we would move in two weeks, because we need packaging and order a moving company, we didn't want to rush, and we wanted all the works done before we move in. Another few days later, the leasing staff urged us to sign the lease. And we came to the leasing office on that weekend. We signed the lease. The apartment rental price included water, but electricity and gas were not included. When we took a tour of the model unit, the leasing staff told us we could totally control the utilities bills ourselves, but then we signed the lease, she told us only electricity bill we could control, gas bill would split among the apartment complex. What's the different? I thought everybody knew. It was too late to know that. I told her that I ordered a moving company on Saturday morning and we need to get the key on Friday afternoon. She said it was OK. Then she got my information, she said she would call the electricity company to setup an account for us. When she got the confirmation number, she would call us and let us knew that, and we could call the electric company and got the account number. I waited until Thursday, if nothing happened, we would live in Mill Creek Gardens now. Unfortunately, all things happened unexpectedly the exact two days before we move in. That day, I called the leasing office whether they got the confirmation number, so I would call the company to get the account number and make sure to got power on before we move-in. To my surprise, she told me by phone, I should call the electricity company, while I got the confirmation number I would tell them. I said you told me you would call the company and let me know if you got the confirmation number, I've waited for that for four days, and you denied what you said four days ago, it wasted time. But she didn't allow me to talk, repeatedly told to me the same words. I told her why you told me a different story just two days before we move in. She was very angry and very rude; she told that she had been working there for ten years. I was really shocked by her behavior. To make things even worse, she said the unit was not ready, the counter-top was leak, and I would not get the key on Friday afternoon. I was shocked again. We packaged everything, ordered moving company; she told us the unit could be ready within a week while we paid $400.00 deposit, why it couldnâ??t be ready within two weeks? And we could not get the key, not sure get the power on. Could we move in? I remembered she said you could move in without counter-top replaced if you wanted. I couldn't imagine what situation we would face to if we move in, leaked counter-top, without power on under 90 degrees temperature. We concluded that she didn't welcome us to move in, and she always had excuse, she didn't want to take any responsibility. I was sad, if we moved in; could we believe their service and maintenance would be acceptable? So, on Friday morning, I cancelled the moving company, I could not move to Mill Creek Gardens. I didn't believe they could provide better services at all. They told me this and they told a different story a few days later; they told me to send me emails, but I never got them; they told us we could totally control the utilities bills, but later on they let us knew the bills would be partially controlled. I lost $400.00 deposit, what could we do for that? Could you move in with services you were not happy with?
