Resident • 2004 - 2020
Its now the year 2020 and looking at the complaints over the years people have made about this building things have gotten much much worse since shp management took over the building in 2009. I have lived her for 16 years and the energy of the building has changed drastically. The issues we had in the past could be resolved. However now we are faced with a management company that just does not care about their senior and disabled tenants. SHP management does not even care about their own employees according the reviews from former employees. The building is now infested with crack heads, drug dealers, and crime. I am in fear of my life everyday living in this building because when issues are presented to management they will violate your trust and go back and tell tenants who made complaints against them which can lead to a very dangerous situation. They allow people who are non lease holders to disturb and terrorize tenants. Things started to really go down hill when they allowed crack head caregivers to live in the building and other non rent paying tenants who really should not be living a senior disabled building. This is an independent living building and if you cannot take care of yourself then the rule was you had to go to a nursing home. Management shows favoritism to certain tenants which creates strife and an unpleasant and unsafe place to live. Management allows violent crack heads, disruptive tenants to remain in this building even when its against the hud guidelines and not to mention some of them are not even lease holders. Their are multiple tenants who have people living with them children, grandchildren, girlfriends, boyfriends etc. They even allowed one of their former employees to shack up with one of the tenants in this building and it was reported numerous times and this man is suspected of selling drugs in this building. SHP management is turning a blind eye to all of the hud violations in the building there was a stabbing in the building and of course they evicted the person but its sad that something extreme has to happen before they act. So conditions have not changed for the better in this building its gotten worse its like living in an insane asylum. Most of these people who claim to need caregivers are just lonely and want someone to live with them and they get their doctors to write up fraudulent documentation to say that they need someone living with them 24/7. Such is the case and point with a tenant in this building but his caregiver has a full time job and management has been made aware of this time and time again due to his disturbing other tenants on the floor he lives on. SHP management just doesn't care this building is horrible I would not recommend it to anyone the people here are psychotic, unfriendly, most of them are ------ trash who have spent most of their lives being on drugs and now they have infested our building to make our lives even more miserable. It was at one time classy seniors who lived here and classier people in general now its just a freak show of crack heads, and other drug addicts and they are active drug addicts btw. HUD prohibits such activities but SHP management does not you can whatever you want in friendship arms apartments you can smoke crack, weed, have your relatives move in and sell drugs this building is going to be like new jack city. So glad I am no longer living in that nightmarish building full of evil demented people including the sadist management.
