If you sign a lease months in advance, BEWARE!!!!! My journey to lease an apartment with my boyfriend at Briarwood Place started off great. I was shown an apartment in early April, quickly applied, and signed a lease in May. Fast forward to thirteen days before my lease start date in June, I called Briarwood to confirm what documents I needed to bring with me in order to move in smoothly. I spoke with Darren, a property manager, who told me what documents to bring and that was the end. However, a couple of hours later, my boyfriend received a call from our leasing consultant Tamika, who said that they could no longer honor our lease of renting a top floor one bedroom apartment because the current occupants have not left and could only offer an apartment on the middle floor instead. This was also confirmed by Carrie another property manager. I quickly called the office and spoke to Darren. When I told him what Carrie and Tamika said, he seemed very confused and unaware of the situation. I spoke with Carrie who did not seem genuinely apologetic of the situation and mentioned how big of an inconvenience it is to her and her team. WOW! I asked for the number of the corporate office and spoke with a regional manager who agreed with Carrie and said basically there is nothing they can do even though WE SIGNED A LEGAL DOCUMENT. According to Carrie, we signed a "pre-lease" and it is not legally binding until we pick up the keys (WHAT?!). We cancelled the lease and will be receiving our deposit back. However I will NEVER rent at another Morgan Property community. The lack of organization at this office is disheartening and they do not care about the inconvenience they have caused. So for any prospective resident, BEWARE!

I understand your concerns, as our intention is to provide you with the perfect home based on your preference. Unfortunately when pre-leasing homes, there can be delays or changes with anticipated move out dates that may affect the availability for your preferred unit. Once we are aware of any delays, we do our best to reach out to you as soon as possible, offering you the most comparable home, based on your selected floor plan. Even though our goal is to ensure the unit you select will be available as expected.We cannot always guarantee this will be the case, but we do our best to ensure we provide you with the same style home, based on your selected move in date. I did my very best to offer you an alternative option, based on your prior selection, but I also understand it was not the preferred option you wanted. Our ultimate goal is to ensure you are happy with your home and the service we provide. If this was not provided to you, I again apologize. I truly appreciate your feedback, as it will help us to continue to work on improving our quality of service going forward. I do hope you will allow us another opportunity to change your perception of Briarwood Place Apartment Homes. Thanks again for your feedback.
