My boyfriend and I are brand new residents at Emerson and we were so excited to finally find a decent apartment in our price range. Yesterday we were able to pick up keys and see our apartment for the first time. I was so excited and I must say I was completely furious and disappointed. Kitchen light switch is faulty, black scuffs on the walls, missing knob on dryer, washer looks dirty and not cleaned, floor trim into the bedroom is not finished, white dry paint is all over the bedroom carpet and closer, closet carpet is slightly torn, closet light does not work, balcony blinds are not installed properly, parts left inside the dish washer, trash is left in the closet on the balcony, one of our apartment keys doesn't even work properly for the apartment.......... We paid $99 to hold the apartment for at least 2 weeks, first months rent, and other deposits, total of $1785, right away because we lost other apartment options 3 times before because their website was not updated properly...we did not want to lose another opportunity. And then we get this apartment that isn't even move in ready. We start moving in today, and I've been told that nothing can be done until our inspection sheet is turned in. How is that even okay? Paying $1785 for this was not worth it. I am thankful to have found a home at Emerson, but something needs to be done about this apartment before we move more furniture on Saturday! Now it's a complete inconvenience for us to even move in this weekend. And to hear that maintenance might not be available. Another disappointment and I'm starting to lose my patience. We hear such good reviews about Emerson at Cherry Lane, and it was all just talk. What happened to getting an apartment ready for new residents and for it to comfortable and in good shape? Do you really expect us to pay $1590/month for this plus utilities?! I would like this apartment fixed ASAP and a refund or something for this inconvenience. For new residents, look at everything and make sure it's worth your money. Do not let them fool you. Freshly new renovated apartments and the cabinets in the kitchen don't even close properly......everything is just not what we expected. COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT! ??
