IT'S NOT REALLY THAT BAD....
I just moved here in January 2004 and maybe I lucked out, but, it really is NOT all that bad. We were greeted by a wonderful staff in the office and a couple maintenance men. They were very helpful and friendly. The apartment is very nice also. They are redoing all the apartments now as they come open, so, the walls are NOT thick with paint, and the carpets are not gross....at least, not in mine, which was just redone. If anything needs fixed, the maintenance man will be there immediately...sometimes too immediately, but still! I think it's all what you make it. Some things that cannot be ignored are the roaches. We have had 2 in our apartment in 8 months, and that's only after it rains and they run in from the patio door. We have seen a couple in our hallway, also, after a storm. Hopefully you luck out with neighbors, cause they can be dirty. We have some little teen punks that hang out on our steps, (one of them is my downstairs neighbor), and they leave trash...things like, chicken bones, crab leg shells, sunflower seed shells, and empty potato chip bags. This can be controlled by calling the office, which I have not had the motivation to do. They are also kind of loud and disrespectful, but, again, we just got unlucky with the neighbors. I will say that this is NOT NOT NOT the place to raise children. We are having a baby this winter and not planning on staying. I guess an infant is not bad, or even a toddler, but, the kids around here are not the type you want influencing your children. Plus, the cars do go tearing by on a regular basis--right through the parking lot...enough to get me screaming at them from my balcony sometimes. It really is scary to see kids running all around and cars flying thru. Not to mention there is a deaf child in our neighborhood and despite the sign at the front of the neighborhood, they still fly thru. There is also quite a bit of litter, but, I believe they clean that up each morning, so, it's gone by the time I get home...but, back by the evening. And one last thing...forget the pool. I love to lay by the pool in the summertime, but, the children are wild there...and I get the feeling not very clean, either...many of the boys even swim in boxers and jean shorts. Just doesn't seem very sanitary. This is the most accurate picture I can paint. Oh, and one more last thing, the car alarms are insane. I have almost put a note on my neighbors car. The trash truck sets it off, thunder sets it off--God forbid a storm!...and even a car with a loud bass sets it off. You can hear them all through the neighborhood. OK, I'm done. Really, it isn't that bad.Share This Review
