Me experience at The Brittany has been rocky from the get-go. When I first moved into this complex, I was forced to sign a lease for an apartment I had never personally inspected prior to signing, and when I got there it turned out to be a chain smokers apartment. As a person with asthma and a cancer survivor, these living conditions were unacceptable, and it took 4 months of repeated attempts at mitigation before I was finally granted a transfer to move into my current apartment. Things improved from there, and overall I've had a pleasant experience up until this summer; the only negative experiences were several minor maintenance issues which required multiple attempts to fix. This summer, however, I've been the victim of a severe water damage and mold issue for almost 3 weeks, and the repairs and mitigation are still ongoing. This issue has been completely mismanaged and contractors ended up patching the ceiling while a pipe was still sweating and dripping water in the ceiling. I am living in an apartment with active mold growth because management has delayed taking action and has not adequately communicated the issues to their maintenance staff. This has been unacceptable, and based on this experience alone I would no longer recommend living at The Brittany.
