Resident 2011 - 2013

12/14/2013

I'm a bit surprised to see all these scathing reviews before mine...I'm happy to write that I've had a good experience here at Mill Pond for 2 years and counting. I'll try my best to write about the things you wouldn't see on their website. Going down the list, parking is always available and with plenty of lighting, day or night. Parking is not assigned, but I've never had an issue with being unable to find a space nearby. The grounds are well kept, rarely seeing trash, and never for more than a day - maintenance is constantly keeping the lawn/bushes and such trimmed. It's nice enough that you'll see people enjoying themselves out in the common area. Noise was heard here just as much as it was in all of my other previous apartments, though what I've noticed is that 99% of it will be your upstairs neighbor - I've had no problems with anyone sharing a wall with us, or the couple downstairs. Yes, my upstairs neighbor gets excited during the next football game, but there are not people hooting and hollering and smashing beer bottles at 3am, unlike the apartments closer to Salisbury University. Washer, dryer, fridge, oven, dishwasher, and microwave are included in each unit. Metal sink has garbage disposal and a hose. Never experienced any drafts in the house (but the bathroom with an external wall can get cold in winter). Have needed to call maintenance only twice so far, and service was always prompt and thorough, even on weekends. Any visits such as pest control are always given with at least 2 days notice, and takes less than 10 minutes. Staff gets my highest commendation here. Just the fact that the office is open on weekends by itself is very convenient. Everyone has been polite, upfront, and helpful about policy. Checks can be paid online (watch out for that $22 extra fee though!), or dropped off at the office any time by walk-in or through a mail slot, and is processed next day. There was one time where a check disappeared before it could be processed, but that issue has been resolved simply by asking for a receipt with each drop off. Only supplemental bills here are power and cable (if you want it), no gas. Cable offered here is Comcast and has had good speeds and consistent uptime. And if it was ever a concern of yours, spiders are rarely an issue here ;) It would be a perfect world where they would never creep into your living space, but I'd say I've been pretty lucky in only catching/tossing ~6 so far in my 2 years. Overall its been a good stay, and better than the other 2 apartment complexes I've stayed at here in Salisbury. It seems reviews lately are only written by angry residents who want to get revenge on their complex, but I believe in supporting good business by giving my sincere recommendations. I hope that future residents have the same pleasant experience that we did.
