I lived at Hampton Point for two years and enjoyed it for the most part. The pros- updated appliances, built-in microwave, nice floor plan, walk in closet, washer/dryer and a fireplace. Most of my neighbors were friendly and I could usually find parking. Cons: some neighbors were extremely loud and inconsiderate, as with anywhere, but the office staff tried to help, extremely high electric bills, and sometimes rude/condescending office staff. I contacted BGE to check out my apartment because my electric bills were 200-300 dollars for a one bedroom with only me living in it. They told me the HVAC units were outdated. I contacted the management office about this twice to see if they would replace/fix it and they said no.
As someone mentioned below, the water bills were also of concern. When I first moved in, my water bills were around 20 dollars a month. By the time I moved out I was paying up to 50 dollars and my consumption hadn't changed. I really liked my apartment and the maintenance staff was great! But I wouldn't recommend the apartments only because of the extremely high electric bills. I am now living in a bigger apartment than I had at Hampton Point and my combined electric and gas bills are 50 dollars on average.
When I first moved into Hampton Point, I was told we could use the gym at the sister property down the street but then that was overturned. Plus there isn't a lot around and the neighborhood seems to be becoming a bit unsafe if you are living on your own. Because there wasn't a gym, I tried jogging in the neighborhood, but just gave up on that because some males in the area would stop their cars and harass me on an almost daily basis as I tried to exercise. For all of the extra money you'd be putting toward electric and water bills, you could rent an apartment that has a community gym, which Hampton Point doesn't have, and in a safer area of MoCo. Overall, not a terrible experience but there are more cost effective apartments with more amenities out there.
