Verified Resident • 2018 - 2019
The unit I have is clean and in decent shape. The neighborhood is quiet, and I barely hear my neighbors. Only a few times did I hear loud music at odd times, and only once did a bunch of (non-resident) college-aged people fill up the parking spots. (Solution is to block them in until you hear shouting.)
The office staff is great. Maintenance is decent but like all apartment maintenance, can be a pain. You'll never know when they're coming, and there can be multiple visits. They may randomly but the power. (My modem, router and cameras are on battery backup.)
So just minor annoyances like that, the front door being backward and difficult to lock (resulting in maintenance never locking it properly), contractors being left unsupervised (saw him via surveillance camera) and tracking in dirt and black stuff onto the carpet, etc. Still not bad if you read some of the horror stories in the ratings.
It's decent if you are ok with $1600 for something 4 miles from downtown without very few amenities, but then the whole city of Portland thinks it's Boston so you can't get much cheaper within city limits. You will also rent without seeing a unit in advance because these are rented out 60 days before the previous resident moves out. It's a leap of faith.
