The actual apartments are ok for what you'll find in Ann Arbor. The apartment was not properly cleaned when we moved in and we had issues throughout the year with noise/safety/maintenance/parking. We lived next to two frat houses, our apartment was broken into and the only safety mechanism the property had was a door code, and we always had broken glass around the house... which was not taken care of by maintenance for weeks. Parking was a hassle, there were assigned spots but they never towed anyone if a non-registered car was parked in someone's spot. The icing on the cake is that management is the biggest pain in the ---. They talk to you in the most unfriendly, unyielding way possible. You are basically treated like a pawn and even yelled at in emails. For example: "...If it is not cleaned up by Tuesday morning when we get into the office, we will be taking care of it and charging it to your apartment. FYI, having a real Christmas in your apartment is a direct violation of your lease." FYI, having a real Christmas (she meant to say tree) in your apartment??? Stupid and condescending. I would avoid Bartonbrook just for how un-friendly they are as landlords. Someone in Bartonbrook should send their employees to Zingerman's to learn how to treat customers.
