The Broadview apartments are some of the most spacious apartments I've seen anywhere in Ann Arbor. The location is also excellent, being so close to North Campus. In particular, it is nice being able to walk to class or the NCRB in about 10 minutes. Parking is plentiful. Maintenance is generally responsive to requests, although repairs are not necessarily done correctly the first time.

I've lived at Broadview for two years--in a one-bedroom my first year and then in a two-bedroom. My complaints about this place are the same for both units. First of all, the interiors of the units are in rather poor condition. The walls are repainted every year, but the paint job is very poor. Holes in the walls from previous tenants are apparent, and dried globs of paint speckle every inch of the walls and ceilings. Additionally, all the wood fixtures in the apartments are falling apart. The wooden cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms are rotting out from water damage and the particle-board countertops are disintegrating. The insects here are ubiquitous. Last year, I had a heavy infestation of carpenter ants, and this year, there are box elder bugs everywhere.

The rent at Broadview is cheaper than the neighboring complexes (i.e. Highland or Parc Pointe). However, Broadview is in the worst state of disrepair out of these three complexes. Unless it is critically important to you to save a few dollars on rent, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
