I'm a med student. I've lived here for 2 years.
Pros:
- Fantastic office staff. Really the best. They're super friendly and helpful on the phone. They call or text immediately whenever a package is dropped off at the office for me.
- Maintenance has always been the same day and is very courteous and helpful.
- The apartment is large (700 sqft.) and has a terrific open layout (I have the "studio" apartment, which is really a one bedroom but called a studio because there's no window in the bedroom).
- Clean, although my apartment had new carpet when I moved in.
- Heat and water is free!
- Lots of parking close to my building.
- Rent is reasonable. Rent was $615 when I moved in. 6 months after my lease expired it was bumped up to $642. I guess that's fair.
- Excellent sound insulation. I hear the guy below me play music sometimes, but that's it.
- Close to Oakland University/OUWB. I'm a med student and I walk to class when the weather is nice.
Cons:
- The exterior of these apartments is ugly.
- Windows are cheap, but I heard they're going to replace them soon. This would be a bigger problem if I was paying for heat.
- Grounds are well kept, but uninspiring. Not a big deal to me though.
- Laundry facilities in the basement work, but are not great.
Can't comment on:
- Reimbursement of deposit. I still live here so we'll see how picky they are when I move out.
- Exercise facilities and pool.
