Walnut Knoll Apartments
We pride ourselves on providing a clean, well maintained apartment to each resident, and expect that the apartment will be left in the same condition when the resident leaves. If there are damages, caused by resident behavior, as in this case, the security deposit is used to pay for the repair and cleaning of the apartment, as well as any unpaid utilities. The lease clearly spells out responsibilities, which are agreed to when the lease is signed. The resident is well aware of any deficiencies and signs off on the condition of the apartment when moving out.
The lease clearly prohibits burning candles because they pose a risk of fire and the potential for property damage and loss of life. These residents violated this prohibition, putting fellow residents at risk. The cleaning and repairs were substantial and the residents well aware of their responsibility.
A resident, who adheres to all provisions of the lease and leaves the apartment in clean condition, will have not have difficulty recovering the security deposit.
