Brighton Glens Apartments
Resident · 2006 - 2007
I really did not mind living at the Glens until I moved out. My lease was paid until November 1st, but the managers and on site maintenance people thought that it would be ok to come into mine and my roommates apartment and rummage through my roommates stuff. They claim that it was a misunderstanding- saying that I said that the apartment was all set. I did say that the apartment was all set, but I meant that it was clean. If it was such a misunderstanding- then why did they have to lie to my roommate? When my roommate came to the apartment they claimed that they threw away $700 worth of her stuff- stating that the dumpster had already come. When she checked the dumpster she found some of her stuff. My roommate called the police and in their investigation they found two of her paintings in the maintenance guys garage. Yep- they threw it all in the dumpster. The fact is that I could have said that we were all set and turned in my keys, but both of our names were on the lease and we were paid until November 1st. Legally that apartment was still ours and they had no right to be in there. A misunderstanding is one thing, but lying is another. All they had to do was call my roommate and ask her about her stuff that was left in her room. I am very disappointed in the way that they have dealt with this situation and the fact that they are trying to place the blame on me. We were excellent tenants and you would think that they would have a little respect instead of treating my roommates stuff like they were on a shopping spree at the thrift store. Due to this experience, I do not reccomend the brighton glens to anyone.
