Resident 2003 - 2008

4/19/2008

I've lived in these apartments for 5 years. When I first moved in, I was shocked that it was as affordable as it was. I just read some of the reviews and am a little bit shocked...I guess we all have our own opinions. The apartments themselves are pretty nice. They can be a bit drafty, that's true, but the resident doesn't pay for the heat so that didn't bother me. I've lived in the one bedroom and 2 of the two bedrooms. It seems that all of the two bedroom apartments have trouble with heating and cooling in the back bedroom. I'm sure that has something to do with the main design. There are a lot of spiders and roly poly bugs but what can you do? It's somewhat wooded behind these apartments and therefor home to these types of bugs. When I first lived there, I had them spray for them several times but it doesn't really do much considering that these are bugs that come right back in from outside. Those were the two biggest things wrong with the apartments. The staff has ALWAYS been really helpful and friendly. I was here when Paula was here too and I do miss her. The management has changed a couple of times since then but I believe that the manager that's there now is equivalent to Paula in really doing her best to take care of the residents. The handy men that work there have always done well with fixing things ASAP...I have no complaints other than a draft or two and a few too many roly poly/spiders...I think those are pretty minor considering how long I've lived there. The box elder bugs can be bothersome but having lived on both sides of the apartments, I can tell you that it depends on which side you choose to live. They are attracted to the side that gets the most sun. The grounds were well maintained but with the management having changed so much lately, there were times that the snow could've been removed in a more timely manner. I like the management that's there now and think that the few problems that can be fixed are being worked on. For a long time, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else but my family grew and so I needed more space, otherwise I would've stayed. I moved out at the end of March 2008 and even though there were some minor repairs that needed done, was refunded my entire security deposit. I was shocked by that too. If you want to live in a decent neighborhood for an affordable price (especially single parents that want a decent school for their kids), I would recommend these apartments 100%...My kids loved the pool and the 24 hour laundry room was as convenient as you could get without having one right in your apartment...I loved my time there...I was actually a little sad to leave...
