I very much wanted to live here. The location was great, I loved the garage and the fact that it was gated. However, when I looked at the unit they were going to give me, the kitchen appliances were ANCIENT. And I mean early 80's at BEST. electric stove with coils for burners. the bathtub was horrible. chipped, patched, stained black on the non-skid strips, just awful. What is "luxury" about that?? I loved the layout, the cathedral ceiling, everything. I just couldn't imagine getting into that tub, I didn't even want to touch it. This wasn't "dirt" that you could clean away. It was just old, worn and broken down. Kitchen sink was old, stainless steel that was worn and stained with an ancient faucet. Stove and dishwasher reminded me ones that you would find in an old, run down "efficency" motel in Florida. If you are not bothered by those things, than it might be a great place for you. Spacious laundry room, etc. They have a very impressive locker room, indoor whirlpool and sauna in the clubhouse that they will show you first, along with an oversized walk in closet they call a fitness room. With no treadmill (?). What they don't mention is that they have 600 units there. One whirlpool and 600 apartments. Most likely have more than one occupant, not to mention the guests they will try to bring in. That makes for a pretty crowded sauna and hot tub. Plus they increased the price almost $100 a month from the time I first inquired to the time they had one ready to show me. Not cool. I'm going to take my $1100 a month and rent something with appliances from this century and a bathtub that doesn't look like it should be sitting out at the dumpster. You should be able to get a very nice, updated, "luxury" apartment for that price. You just won't find one here. Old, worn and outdated. Look at Kirkway website and see what I mean. New cabinets, stainless steel appliances, granite counters, that is luxury. They were all very nice, just stuck peddling a tired and overpriced product. Their reviews on other sites seem to have been written by the staff. Short and full over overwhelming praise about the staff, lol. A common problem with unverified reviews. Just thought I would contribute an honest point of view.

We take great pride in our lovely apartment home community and acknowledge that we do cater to a more upscale clientele. The most important thing is that you find a place where you'll be happy. We're so glad you've done that and wish you nothing but the best. Updated 4/7/2015: In reference to our supposedly taking current residents to court over existing problems caused by the previous tenant, that is prevented by the Security Deposit Document II - Commencement Inventory Checklist, a part of every new lease signed. It specifically addresses 38 key areas of the apartment homes condition, such as carpet, and also leaves room for the new tenant to add anything else they want addressed or noted. That document states, in part, "...complete this checklist, noting the condition of the rental property, and return it to the landlord within 7 days after obtaining possession of the rental unit." It also further states that you are entitled to receive, upon request, "...a copy of the last termination inventory checklist which shows what claims were chargeable to the last prior tenants." Please feel free to contact the office at (586) 228-2030 any day before 6 p.m. We'd love to clear up any other misinformation you were given about our lovely apartment home community.
