Burnt Tree Apartments

My fiancee and I lived in Burnt Tree for 2 years. We had a 1st floor two-bedroom apartment with a washer and dryer and paid around $750 a month in rent. Our utilities were around $40-$50 for heat in the winter months ($10 every other month) and around $50-$60 for electricity. Our water was included in the rent. We did not purchase cable TV but were able to get AT&T DSL internet for $20 a month for the first year (at a promotional rate) and $40 for the second year. Burnt Tree was a great place to live. It is absolutely perfect for college students and families alike. There is a big grass area in the middle of the complex that provides a safe place for kids to play and run around. They also have tables and grills scattered around the community that are great for cooking out if you have guests. The Meijer and Kroger are within walking distance and access to US-127 is right down Lake Lansing. Eastwood Towne Center is just across 127 and has a lot of great shops, a Wal-Mart, and a movie theatre. If you are going to MSU, the #24 takes you to Grand River and into south campus and the #25 takes you down Harrison and past Wells Hall. I rode the bus everyday to class and it was really convenient because the bus stop is right across the street from the complex. The community itself is very clean and quiet. There is a good mix of college students, families, and working adults who were all friendly to us during our time at Burnt Tree. We were given one free assigned carport right outside our building and there is plenty of guest parking throughout the complex. The maintenance and DTN staff were always helpful and responsive when we needed help. We would really recommend Burnt Tree to anyone. We had a great experience and were sad to leave! tl; dr Pro: Clean, quiet, and reasonably priced Great bus service to downtown East Lansing and MSU campus Close to grocery stores and other shops Free assigned carport and plenty of guest parking Con: They should build a sidewalk to get across the street to the CATA bus stop Over-the-air TV reception is terrible (they should install a big antenna on top of each building and give everyone free network channels... that would set them apart from other apartments in the area)
