Resident 2012 - 2013

6/21/2013

Do not move in these apartments as you will never have a sane day in your life. If you crave a nice, peaceful neighborhood you will not find it here: I moved out in the past 6 months and experienced the following while living at Kendallwood: 1. Constant noise: I lived on the 2nd floor but I could hear everything that was going on in the apartment below (through the vents). There were 2 adults and 2 children living below me in a 1-bedroom and the 1-year old was constantly crying. I was so pi$$ed that I loaded a crying baby on You Tube and held it up to the vent so they would get a taste of their own medicine. I could hear their t.v., loud stereo, kids running back and forth across the apartment, their cell phones ringing, their conversations and their kid's musical toys going off at all times. The sound problem was so bad that I could even here them chopping on a cutting board preparing dinner. 2. Constant noise from the community: There are rude kids constantly running around the complex unsupervised. It is absolutely dreadful in the summer when everyone is out and running around like yahoos through the neighborhood. The kids are so loud in the pool that after a stressful day at work it is torture listening to them everyday screaming and yelling for hours at a time. On one occasion, there were 10 very loud teenagers playing football inside the tennis court. Nice lawsuit for Kendallwood if one of these kids gets injured. Of course we all know that you play football in a tennis court. On another occasion, someone was banging on the chain fence for hours at a time--I thought I was going to go crazy on that one. During the months of May - September you will not have one quiet or peaceful day at Kendallwood--the noise is that bad. If you can afford a high air conditioning bill and run it 24 hours with a white noise machine in the background you may be fine. 3. Questionable neighbors: They lowered their standards of who they would rent to and this was my experience. I woke up one morning at 6:30 a.m. to 4 DEA officers at the downstairs neighbors. They carted him off to jail. I was relieved because he could not fight with his girlfriend anymore--I felt bad for their infant child. Another neighbor had 5 people living in a 1-bedroom and one night at 2:30 a.m., the guy was beating his girlfriend so bad (turned on the vacuum to cover up the noise) I thought he was going to kill her. I called 911 and so did the neighbor downstairs--I told the 911 operator to get there quickly or someone was going to die as the girl screamed in agony for 10 minutes. This was at 2:30 a.m. mind you. You will find teenagers roaming down in the laundry room 4 at a time where your storage space is also. Also, a group of men rented a 1-bedroom in my building just to play cards every Monday night. No one lived there. They would be in the hall cussing and the smoke in the morning would be so foul you couldn't move through it. The women above them moved out after 3 weeks. I didn't know Kendallwood had a gambling license. As a single woman living there, I felt nervous with the questionable people milling. If you move in here, just some of your future neighbors. 4. Destruction of property: Two kids were standing on the carport and throwing gum and garbage on my car roof. I asked them where they lived and stated I was going to tell their parents. The one kid was crying and I made them pick the garbage and gum off my car. I told them to treat people how you want to be treated. Nice lawsuit for Kendallwood if one of the little geniuses falls off of the carport. Just a matter of time. Our neighbors complained that someone threw something at their window which shattered the glass and she had to seek medical attention whilst pregnant. 5. Smoking neighbors: I had a neighbor who smoked constantly and the smoke billowed into my apartment. I had to shut my windows on a beautiful summer day and my air conditioning costs went through the roof because he smoked on the steps of the building. If you had a smoker below you and with the open vent system, you would suffer immensely. The only positive thing is if you complain to management they handle it quickly with evictions etc. But, there are so many problems here that you need a personal assistant just to handle ALL of the problems. I was working full time and starting a business so I stayed here until I could afford to move. Have since moved to a lovely property off Haggerty Rd. I actually have peace now. Will buy a condo once business really takes off which should be soon. A concerned former resident (happy to say that!) with former being the operative word.
