Resident 2012 - 2013

6/21/2013

At first, I was very excited to move in. The place is quiet the apartments look nice-although small. However, over my passed year at Greenfield Apartments, my opinion has vastly changed. The staff is rude, judgmental and quick to point a finger of blame. My boyfriend is African American, it seemed as soon as they found that out, everything that happened in or around our building was his fault. Although, the staff never directly confronted me with it, they would proceed to tell other tenants and my roommate that they believed it was him. On one occasion they thought someone had broke into the building because one of their cheap screens fell out of the window. They proceeded to tell my roommate they thought it was him, and ask her if it was him. Next, a few months later my roommates back window in her vehicle shattered. Again, they thought it was him. HELLO GREENFIELD IT WAS MY ROOMATES CAR. Why the heck would he do that to my roommate? Then, my boyfriends bike got stollen off the grounds of Greenfield when we went to the office they were very put off by this and I could practically see Joel rolling his eyes at me from his office. It was obvious they didn't care and acted like we were making up some sort of lie. After about four months of living here, I got a new roommate. When she first moved in the landlord called her down to his office, and told her he would HELP her find a place to stay if she didn't want to stay with me. AGAIN, without contacting me. Which was very rude and off putting. My new roommate put him in his place and even commented about the black to white ratio there is in this apartment complex. Months later, randomly one night I came home and the deadbolt to our apartment had stopped working it was about 10pm I had just gotten off work. I tried calling the emergency number numerous times only for the emergency number to be OUT OF SERVICE. Apparantley, the complex didn't know about this. We live on the third floor, we couldn't get into our apartment at all! Luckily my roommate is quite limber and managed to climb to our balcony and we had left our balcony door open. We told them in the morning and we got their "apologies" and a $20.00 gift card. Still to this day they are rude. I went in there today and the front office lady Melissa, barely even looked at me and coldly told me I still had a remaining balance from the parking garage. Then I went to ask Joel about our move out date, because right now Its June 28th but we need to stay until the 15th. My roommate had contacted him earlier this week about it and he acted like he didn't know anything about it, and said "I possibly talked to someone." Yeah right Joel. Oh, and the maintenance, nearly every closet door in my house is broken and has been broken since the day we moved in. We have called and had them fixed only for them to fall off again within a week. We've stopped calling. Same with the cheap slider door they have that keeps falling off. If you drive around the complex, you will see a lot of sliders leaning against the porches. Also, the hallways only get cleaned out MAYBE once a month. So if you have trashy neighbors, good luck. And 75% of the time they leave NO notices that they have been in your apartment at all. The only reason I would recommend Greenfield apartments would be because they are cheap and quiet. But they just bumped the rent up, and they added a water bill. Not to mention they told us there were no Pet fee's when we moved in and they suddenly changed it right after. Joel and Melissa are rude, and seem prejudice. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone and I CANNOT WAIT until I'm out of here. Maybe things will change because Joel did just get a promotion (how I have no idea), but if they are leaving it in Melissa's hands. I'm definitely ready to get out of here, she never remembers anything. I'm still waiting for my plastic shower rail to be replaced. DON'T MOVE HERE.
