I am writing this to warn future renters of what they are signing up for when they sign a lease with Lake of the Hills apartments. Dont be fooled by the beautiful lake, golf course, and large spacious bedrooms that are advertised...it is not worth it. I lived there for three years and was happy for the first two years when a manager by the name of Michelle was running the show. She was wonderful and she was quick to help with any problem that occurred. Ever since she left the place has gone downhill as it seemed they struggled to get a new manager to replace her. Over the summer I went 4 weeks with no air conditioning as did most other units. Conveniently management "disappeared" during this time, the emergency line never returned calls, and even after calling corporate there was no one available to at least give a timeline of when the units would be fixed. A few short months later the water heater that served all 8 rooms within our complex broke down leaving residents with no hot water for over a month. We were made promises which were not met and we took a lot of cold showers. Between the air conditioning issues, and the water heater issues, the increase in rent, and the request for residents to replace their own blinds and pay for them out of pocket just to "improve the image of LOTH" I decided enough was enough and I moved out. Dont expect to receive your security deposit back either, they will find an excuse to keep that from you as well.
