Decent, but it has it's issues
PROS: Overall, this is a decent place to live but still has issues. Compared to the rates and amenities of the other apartments in the area, this is a pretty good deal. The maintenance has always been quick to respond and repair most issues. I've had an ongoing problem with the toilet tank leaking, which has been addressed 2-3 times and still has not been fixed. Other than that, I've been happy with maintenance and always see them during the day working on the grounds or making maintenance calls. The office staff has always been friendly and helpful. Included in the rent is gas, water, trash, and use of pool. Gas heat and stove are awesome and I know this would be costly if I had to pay out of pocket. Lots of kitchen counter space was a plus for me. Having a dishwasher and garbage disposal is also great. The stackable washer/dryer is also in the kitchen and sure beats having to go to a laundromat. For the two bedroom aparments, the patio/balcony is decent sized and has an outdoor storage closet. The grounds are well-kept and maintenance always seems to be busy. For being older apartments, I thnk the upkeep both inside and outside is excellent. Yeah, older apartments are not built like newer ones, but this place is not bad for as old as it is. CONS: Yes, the walls are pretty thin and often neighbors are playing loud music, talking loudly, or stomping up and down the stairwell. I have noticed bums walking around and looking in the dumpsters on many occasions. (Other reviews have stated shady looking people lurking in the parking lots and looking into cars, but I have yet to see this.) I will say it does feel a bit unsafe at night as the parking lots are not well-lit. I'll have to agree with other reviews that I don't feel 100% safe walking to and from my car at night. The pool in the summer months is often crowded and used by non-residents which is a bit annoying. The office issues out pool passes to residents, yet these are never checked. It seems more non-resident locals from the surrounding community use the pool more than residents. While it's good gas is included in the cost of rent, it's a shame electricity is not. Living on the 3rd floor is great, except for in the summer. The air conditioning units are outdated and inefficient. With the thermostat set at 74 degrees, the air conditioner runs nearly non-stop all day during the summer months. Look forward to a $100 electric bill during the summer months. The apartment layout is interesting, but I don't like the bedroom locations. For all apartments, one bedroom faces the parking lot and is next to the stairwell. Noise from the parking lot and the stairwell is loud can be a nuisance. If you have a two bedroom (like I do) the second bedroom is right off of the living room. The second bedroom is next to your neighbor's living room and kitchen. You can constantly hear your neighbor's kitchen cabinet doors slamming and noise from their living room when you're lying in bed.Share This Review
