Some snapshots summarize our experience up nicely:
- Our building's laundry room smelled more like 20 years of stale cigarettes and cat urine than launry. Its washers and dryers didn't always accept correct coins.
- Our neighbor across the parking lot overheard the guys in the unit below planning an armed convenience store robbery, one of whom was arrested shortly thereafter on an outstanding warrant.
- In the course of 12 months, we dealt with three different office managers.
- Our bathroom had a "private" room for the toilet, but there wasn't enough room to sit on the toilet and close the door at the same time.
- A spacious walk-in closet was accessible the master bedroom (if the sliding door didn't come off its runners), with shelving built from as much paint as flakeboard.
- During the first big snow of the year, all vehicles in our parking lot were snowed in for a full day before the lot was cleared out.
During our lease, Breton East changed its name to "Ashton Woods" -- like many others, we suspected that it was an attempt to escape poor reviews like this one.
