I lived at Tammany Hills for several years during graduate school at MSU. I chose this apartment complex because of location (close to MSU and shops) and amenities (free car port, pet friendly, heat and water included). It isn't the newest (looks like it was built in the 80s) or prettiest apartment complex, but it practical. The building is quiet and the apartments feel large. The neighborhood has a lot of foot traffic between the bus stop and bicycle lane, so it feels safe living here. I really enjoyed my time living here, the office staff was always very friendly and helpful (they even hold your packages!), but I cannot say the same for the maintenance staff. My first year here all issues were always quickly addressed, and snow and lawn upkeep was well done. The two years after that, I've grown to have the opposite opinion. I have to make repeated calls to the office to ensure that a job gets completed. I think the issue is a lack of communication between the office and maintenance staffs, or the maintenance staff is outright lying to the office staff about the work that has been completed. If I could, I would recommend to the management that they hire some new and licensed maintenance staff that will repair things in a professional manner, not something that looks like a sloppy DIY job. But to anyone considering living here - if you're a non-traditional MSU student, or a graduate/professional student, this apartment complex is convenient and affordable.
