Resident 2014 - 2017

Grounds are kept pretty, there's a pool, and the apartments look like condos because of the private walk ups - but don't let the looks fool you, this place is horrible. The maintence team is literally two creepy old men who enter the apartment whenever they feel like it, without telling you. I literally woke up in the morning one time and they were in my closet screwing around with the heat/air conditioning units and didn't even bother to try and wait for me to leave the room/bed. Eventually, right before I moved out, they hired a third maintence guy, some Mexican guy. I literally watched this dude rinse my shower walls down with a wet rag that he dunked in toilet water one day after he had finished fixing some tiles in the shower. The noise level is okay - but if you ever complain about noisy neighbors, nothing is done. Neighbors frequently park their SUV in front of the dumpster with a giant "no parking" sign on it and block the dumpster area for residents - nothing is done. People speed through the complex ALL. OF. THE. TIME. and there are children that play and are at risk of getting killed by a speeder. Nothing is done. The lady in the office, Renee, is a total b**ch. She seems great when she's showing you around and wants you to sign the papers to sell your soul to them; once you sign, she flips and turns nasty. If you put a maintence request in, be prepared to wait a week before you see if fixed. And when it is fixed, it's usually half-a**ed and jerry-rigged together. The entire time I lived there, I had a problem with the sliding door on my balcony that was never addressed. The dishwasher was so loud that it shook the entire apartment and while the in-unit laundry is great, my laundry room flooded multiple times because the machines are archaic. There is also a stink bug problem here - and while it is prevalent in Michigan at the moment - I've never seen it as bad as it was in this apartment. Oh, and about that pool. It's ALWAYS cold, even on the hottest summer day, the water is unbearably freezing. Rent got raised every year I lived there yet barely any renovations were made to the complex (except a parking lot repaving, in which my car was hit by one of the other residents and nothing could be done for me). Where is all of this increased rent money going? Save yourself the endless headaches and don't live here.
