Resident 2013 - 2015

10/19/2015

The staff are rude and the policies are over the top. This is low-income housing and they are more concerned with making sure that things on the outside don't make it look like poor people live here than actually providing a quality place to live. Our heater is original to the building and makes horrible noises when it kicks on. The ventilation systems are all interconnected so if someone smokes in their town home, everyone in that unit of town homes can smell it (no they're not supposed to but they do). The toilets need replacing, but they just do quick fixes. We had to have maintenance out three times to try to re-calibrate out oven thermometer before they finally replaced the oven which looked like it was about 15 years old. The caulking keeps coming right up from around the bathroom sinks. One sink has a part of the enamel missing and they've tried putting caulking over that instead of replacing it. They have low efficiency heaters, water heaters and appliances, but gladly accept a subsidy from the government for our utilities and then claim that they adjust our rent accordingly. Our rent can be increased with less than a month's notice (we had two weeks last time). This is only one step up from couch-serfing, really, and wouldn't take much to wind up falling into the category of slum. I don't even want to think about how long it's been since the carpeting has been changed. But heaven forbid it look like we're poor from the outside.
