I have been at the Forum for a few months now -- and overall it's a good place. Pros: -I love the location; super close to campus...my longest walk to class is 20 minutes and that's in North campus. 10-15 minutes to South campus. -There is always enough parking. I don't think there's ever any problem with getting a spot near your apartment. Everyone tends to park in the same spots, and we know who's spots are whose. -Melissa (the manager/secretary/go-to gal) is super nice and will even just chat sometimes. She reports maintenance problems right away, and all the guys are really nice. -Spacious apartments. We have an end apartment and it is VERY nice. If I were to recommend a room, it'd be an end room. -Good price for what you get. Heat/water/sewage is paid for. Pool. Laundry on-site is iffy. But overall good. -Not too many parties that are super loud. I only heard a few during the first few weeks of class. -Grounds are kept clean of garbage, and grass is kept mowed. Cons: -Out-dated apartments. Some have newer carpet which is GREAT. The kitchen/bathroom linoleum is...sad. Cracked in some spots. -Front door is very drafty. I have to keep a blanket in front of the jamb or else my feet freeze when I sit at the table! -Kind of a crap paint job. Very hastily done. Some hairs in the paint, and runs down the walls. -For some reason I've have over a dozen hornets get in over the past week. No window/door open. -Pretty thin walls. I can hear the neighbors when they talk loudly, when I'm in the bathroom. -The laundry room is kind of dirty. The tops of the washers could be cleaned, and the floor mopped every so often. (Also, some dickhead stopped my drier when my clothes were barely dry, then didn't re-start it...but that's not the Forum's fault...) -Dog poop left in the grass. Stay on the sidewalks -- doggy bags are supplied, but some people don't use it. -Bathroom ventilation is connected. If your neighbor smokes pot in the bathroom, your bathroom will smell. If they cook very pungent foods, your bathroom will smell. (so don't leave wash cloths in the actual shower-room...or else they will absorb the smell.) -Only outdoor lighting is outside of apartment door. Some flood lights on side of the buildings, but not adequate. While it appears that the cons are heftier than the pros, it's still worth it, if you don't expect top of the line apartments. We plan on staying here for the next few years, and maybe they'll do a little renovating in the meantime. :) I'd recommend it.
