United Apartments was by far the WORST apartment experience I have ever had to date. BE WEARY of signing a lease with this apartment complex. Yes, they are hard to avoid because in college towns they own a majority of apartment housing and offer seemingly good rates. However be warned you will not be treated with respect.
When living with United I found that the day I signed my lease I was treated with respect, things were explained to me and everyone was nice. However, once I moved in every experience with the office ladies or maintence was unfriendly. I was given rude responses, whether it be a maintence issue, a parking issue or a billing issue. The women who worked at the office made it seem like you were interrupting their day by asking for assistance at the apartment complex you live at.
ALSO beware of the hidden fees/ tricks. If one person doesn't pay rent on time EVERYONES internet goes off. This can be especially complicated if you have an online quiz/test or homework to do or aren't close with your roommates. This is a college town but United does not care about their residents for anything except money.
Also, I was continually charged for random things upon move out. Things that other apartments may not have made a big deal about, United charged for. What made this the most annoying is they seemed to charge for things like "marks on walls" yet these things were still there when I moved in. We never received the apartment in perfect condition, so what were they even charging for?
I know it's hard, but avoid this cold, rude, unprofessional apartment complex. They only want your money and could care less about their tenants!!!
