Resident 178994

Verified Resident 2014 - 2015

11/15/2015

West Michigan's limited and too often unpleasant rental market can make places that aren't great or even good look spectacular in comparison. The Reserve is one of those "well, compared to ..." places. You will pay far too much for far too little. The playground is old and that's the reason given for broken or dangerous equipment. The complex was built in 2005. No one can prove that person living near your apartment actually lives there because they're not on the lease (insert dramatic sigh from front desk staff) so whatever it is that person may be doing isn't our problem because they don't officially live here. Electric bills during the winter are sky high. Electric heat's the main reason but poorly constructed buildings with zero insulation make it much worse.

    Resident 2014 - 2015

    7/21/2015

From the outside, this place looks great. Spacious apartments, a pool and fitness room, computer room, carports, good access to shopping and transportation. And then I moved in. Some of the children and teens living here are totally out of control. I hung curtains almost immediately after realizing kids were literally staring in my windows. Blinds are provided but must be kept in perfect shape or tenants either have to replace them or pay to have them replaced. Carports seem to go to "favorite" residents. There aren't enough for all residents but no fee is charged for those who get them. Heat is not included. It's electric and my apartment is drafty at best. I twice had winter electric bills over $400 for a 1-bedroom. I never turned the heat above 65 degrees during the day and most nights turned it down to 63 degrees. Brr. Bugs are a constant problem, especially ants. Expect to make multiple requests before an exterminator is sent. By the time I got one, most of my apartment was infested despite repeat maintenance visits where chemicals were sprayed everywhere. I've tried to be pro-active without complaining or whining to management. Yet I feel like I'm treated as a nuisance. I am apartment hunting now.
