Having found home ownership to be unaligned with where we wanted our time and resources to be devoted to, we opted to go back to the care-free days of renting. We went from a large home to a spacious 3 bedroom 1.5 bath apartment at Knob Hill and have been very happy with our decisio to make Knob Hill our home and simplify our lives by going back to renting. The staff at Knob Hill are great. Always asking how things are and take an interest to get to know you on a first-name basis and even your pet :) The leasing office usually has some treat for renters around holidays or in celebration of promotional events which is fun. We participated in a door-decorating contest at Christmas and there was a complex-wide picnic in the summer. When we moved in, things were not to our standards (dirty carpet, poor paint job, overall cleanliness), but Pat the property manager was incredibly helpful and got everything taken care of before we moved in. Our unit has the optional upgraded bathrooms and kitchen (highly recommended)! Do not be turned away by OLD cabinets/countertops, etc., with the remodel the apt. looks completely different. We have been very glad we went ahead with the remodel. Our aparment also has in-unit washer and dryer. The machines have worked great for us. Any maintenance issues we have had have been dealt with promptly. We had a backed up drain on a weekend and someone from maintenance was at our apt. within a half an hour and took care of the problem. We are in a 2nd floor unit (neighbors above and below) and have rarely had any issues with noise. Now, you must realize you are in an apartment with other people and occassionaly someone else's music, etc. can be heard, but relatively speaking, we have found all our neighbors to be respectful. Do get a carport if there is one near your unit as this will probably be your main beef with Knob Hill. We have a carport, but even still, in building 2305 the parking is pretty far from the building (sucks for winter, moving in/out, bringing in groceries or unpacking your car) and rather limited if you want a close spot. Knob Hill is pet friendly! Not only that, they have a nice field and fenced in pet area. Don't worry about waste bags either because KH provides you with them! :) The grounds here are very well maintained and we love the clubhouse, workout room, sand vball court, large open field, walking path, and pool! We were able to rent the clubhouse out for a private party too which was great for entertaining since we were used to being able to do so at our home. At night things are pretty dark around the buildings depending on where you go and even the places that are normally lit may occassionaly have a light out and it seems to take some time to get the lights replaced. The dumpsters are all far from the buildings which can be a pain sometimes. Overall, we have really enjoyed ourselves at KH and you can't beat the location. We re-signed for another year at KH since we have been so pleased with our home!
