Overall this is a nice place to live. The maintenance and office staff are friendly and efficient. The parking and location are ideal. Also, the apartment layout is great and updates are under way for all of the buildings. However, the only (and major) complaint I have is with the water. The pressure and temperature is very unreliable. Some days it is adequate but others it is basically a trickle of water. The temperature always varies. It takes a while to heat up and my roommate and I usually just turn the hot knob in the shower on and walk away because we know it takes so long. Even with turning just the hot nozzle on it never gets as hot as it should either. It is unsettling and stressful to think that I have to take into consideration any time I'm getting ready that there might not be enough water pressure to take a shower. When it is really bad it usually takes me twice as long to take a shower if I actually want to wash my hair. The water is free here but honestly with the poor condition it is in I would rather just pay for it and have better pressure.
We love everything else about Great Oaks. But I know other people who live in different buildings with the same problem so it isn't just our building. Everything else is great. I just wish they would not be cheap about this one thing.
