My first 6 months in this apartment were fine. I didnt quite understand why there were so many bad reviews. The pool was the first issue. Someone did trash it. I think its unfair if it was a tenant, like one of the previous reviews stated. They ruined it for everyone. My last 6 months have been a nightmare. Before I signed a lease, I asked about the water heater and was told each apartment had its own. NOT TRUE. Our whole building shares one heater. I have had the worst time with water. We never have hot water to shower, do dishes or clean. I have had to boil water to clean myself. The maintnence staff is clueless. My toilet constantly runs, so when I have hot water for a shower and the toliet starts running I am scalded. Maintnence claims my toliet is fine. Whatever. Back to the water issue. I have talked to management several times (on the rare times they are in or answer their phone) and now the truth comes out about the water heater. So finally the thing blows. Without notification we have our water shut off. I can handle this in an emergancy. The problem is, it was shut off at 8 in the morning, and management didnt answer their phone, or show up at the office. I called the emergency pager, and I did not get a response until 1. I had to drive to the grocery store to use the bathroom and brush my teeth. So supposedly they fixed the water heater. Then this weekend, my shower runs out of hot water again. Maintnence says they replaced the old one with a heater that is too small for the building. So I have to live like this? They are comping us one month rent for the inconvenience, but I am looking to move. We also had an issue with maintnence when our tub was clogged. They unclogged it (which was another huge ordeal) but something happened where it caused a leak in the apartment under us. Because of the leak we were told not to shower until the next day. So the next day maintnence comes back and says they are going to work on the shower. So they did nothing the day before while I was at work, and we have 2 days in a row without a shower. We were then told that we could use the shower over the weekend. So we run the shower, and of course it leaks all over the neighbors under neath. So 4 days to fix this. Parking: It has improved since i have moved. The lot is desperate to be repaved, and the gravel is broken in places. Large potholes all over, but tons of spaces. Noise: Not too noisy. Most of the tenants in my building are quiet. You can hear anything in the hallway, and I can hear music during the day, but it is not disruptive. Grounds: I think they are average. Occasionally there is pet waste outside, but that is not managements fauilt. I believe there is a policy, and tenants may not follow it. Safety: Hallway is lit in the night. Parking lot is lit. Door to building is not locked though. Construction. Good and Bad. Good: Wood floors, Ceramic counters, nuetral paint, large bedrooms and kitchen. Bad: all of my drawers in the kitchen are warped and uneven, bath tub does not clog for baths. Mirror has a wierd coating on it so it never looks clean. Fridge is missing a shelf holder, so space is wasted. Toliet doesnt stop running. Shower faucets dont work properly. Caulking in bathroom sink looks dirty. Maintnence: Quick to respond, but not good. They tend to complain about everything and never bring the right supplies. Communication is horrible. They dont seem to know what they are doing, and have a hard time understanding what you are saying or explaining what they are doing. We put off calling them because they make us uncomfortable. Staff: Average staff. Management is friendly, and they do listen and try to help. Unfortunately, they are not always in during business hours. They also are not good at returning phone calls. I feel communication has gotten better since I have been in to see them more. Cleaning staff is nice, but our hallway never looks clean, and smells bad. If they do not get this water heater problem fixed, I will not be here much longer
