Resident 2009 - 2011

5/25/2011

I was apprehensive before moving in here, as I hadn't heard good things about the neighborhood and during earlier apartment searches I had found it all but impossible to get the office here on the phone the first time you call. These are still valid concerns, but other than potholes in the parking lot, that's it really. And even the surrounding area seems decent enough now that I'm here, it's not like I've heard any gunshots or the like. The office staff, which just seems to be one person, is very part-time, but they do get back to you as promptly as their probably corporate office set schedule allows, and I've always found them to be friendly. The apartments are nice and large, the walls reasonably thick (though if you have noisy neighbors this won't help a ton), and the place was clean when I moved in (they finished literally an hour before I got the keys). It's in a good location, though it would be nice if Studio 28 was still in business. But a Family Fare is just a mile away, and Meijer is barely 3 1/2 miles, with 28th street and it's myriad of choices not even 1/2 a mile up the road. The maintenence staff, what little I've dealt with them, are very friendly and approachable. The rent is pretty good for how big the place is, and the security deposit was very reasonable. Four stars easily, I'd go a 1/4 star higher if I could.
